ABSTRACTS

Abstract submissions now CLOSED

The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) is calling for abstract submissions for Free Papers, How To Sessions, Rapid Five, Posters and Symposia. IGNITE 2023 will build upon the success of past APA Conferences and bring together all the APA National Groups, which represent the full diversity of Australian physiotherapy.

The Conference will feature prominent Australian and International researchers and clinicians presenting cutting edge scientific research underpinned by clinical practice knowledge.

Held every two years, the APA Conference provides an outlet for researchers and practitioners to network and exchange ideas. We invite all researchers, practitioners and clinicians to submit their abstracts to the Scientific Committee.

Authors whose abstracts are accepted for presentation at the Conference will be invited to make either a:

  • 15 minute oral presentation (10 minutes with 3 – 5 minutes for questions and change over)
  • How To session (30 minute)
  • Rapid Five presentation (5 slides, 5 minutes)
  • Structured Symposium (45 minutes)
  • E-Poster

Abstract submissions closed 20 March 2023

Conference streams

The Conference Program will be formatted with the assistance of the APA National Groups. The Call for Abstracts is open to any abstract that fits within one or more National Group(s), as per below, but may also be submitted under a broad Physiotherapy theme without being restricted to any National Group.

In addition, several sub-themes have been identified by the Scientific Committee that enhance the conference theme of IGNITE. In the submission process you are invited to select one of those if it has particular relevance to your submission. This will aid in the grouping and scheduling of your paper should you be successful:

  • Behavioural change/communication
  • Indigenous health
  • Chronic and complex
  • Participation and inclusion
  • Physical activity and exercise
  • Technology and innovation
