    Gillian is a physiotherapy academic and has been involved in physiotherapy education for many years in the physiotherapy program at The University of Melbourne. She is currently the Academic Lead for the Masters of Physiotherapy program at the University of Tasmania. Her research and teaching interests are in health professional education, Indigenous and Global Health.

    Gillian is involved in developing physiotherapy educational programs in the Asia West Pacific region. She has helped establish physiotherapy in countries such as Nepal, Indonesia, Fiji, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh and India. She has conducted numerous workshops on education and leadership. She has worked with governments and professional organisations in the region to improve the role of rehabilitation and health promotion activities in order to improve health outcomes of their communities and countries.

    Gillian was Chair of the Asia West Pacific Region of World Physiotherapy for six years and continues to sit on the Executive Committee. She has held many positions on different committees of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
