Phillip Hughes

    Dr Phillip Hughes is a musculoskeletal and shoulder physiotherapist who has been in private practice for 30 years.

    Phillip completed post-graduate studies in manipulative physiotherapy in the 1980’s, and a Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2003. He then completed his Doctoral studies in 2015, investigating the diagnosis of rotator cuff-related pain.

    Phillip spent 10 years teaching undergraduate physiotherapy. However, in late 2021 he returned to clinical practice as principal of Complete Physio Melbourne and Melbourne Shoulder Physiotherapy.

    Phillip is a passionate advocate for the APA and musculoskeletal physiotherapy. He is the immediate past National Chair of the APA Musculoskeletal National Group.

    His areas of clinical interest involve the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder conditions and a balanced approach to managing musculoskeletal conditions, involving all elements of the biopsychosocial model.
