    Associate Professor Shaun O’Leary (BPHTY (Hon), MPHTY (Msk), PhD, FACP) is a Clinical Academic in Physiotherapy, holding a conjoint position between the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Queensland, and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Physiotherapy Department, and the statewide Neurosurgical/Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Screening Clinics and Multidisciplinary Services (OPSC&MDS) in Queensland Health. He is also a Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and Fellow of the Australian College of Physiotherapists (ACP).

    Shaun’s research focus is on the prevention and management of painful musculoskeletal disorders. In particular, his collaborative work within the OPSC&MDS has underpinned substantial direct changes in service planning and delivery. Some of this work within the OPSC&MDS will underpin this presentation. Overall, Shaun has over 100 publications including 2 mainstream textbooks concerning the management of musculoskeletal disorders and has delivered numerous conference presentations and clinical workshops on this topic nationally and internationally.

    Shaun contributes to clinical education at all levels of physiotherapy training and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
